Parrot Fish
The parrot fish can change sex from a female to a male. They travel in schools where there is only one male and many females usually 2-7, if the male dies the dominant females will become a male. Parrot fish will appear their brightest when they have just changed sex from female to male. There are three stages a parrot fish will go through, these are Juvenile, Initial and terminal phase. The terminal phase represents the most aggressive, largest and brightest individuals. The initial phase is when a parrot fish is a female. Most parrot fish go into the terminal phase through change of sex. Parrot fish go into the terminal phase after the become male and when they have reached the apex of sexual maturity. They also will experience the greatest reproductive success. Parrot fish are also closely related to wrasses. Just like the wrasse the parrot fish swims with its pectoral fin.
