Global Warming
If global warming took place the parrot fish would suffer because there perfect water temperature is 81-82 degrees F. So if the water became a lot warmer or a lot colder they would not be able to cope and they might all die and the species might become extinct.
Ecology
The parrot fish is essential to the ecology of the reef because their gardening like activity plays a crucial role in the survival of the reef. The parrot fish feeding on the reef also ensures that algae does not suffocate the reef. The coral they eat is ground up and excreted as sand.
